I could write a fun third-person blurb about myself, but let’s keep things a bit more casual. I’m Casey Konstantynowicz, based in Oakland, CA. I’m a Gemini Sun (sorry lol), Virgo Moon, and Cancer Rising. My pronouns are They/Them/Their, I identify as Non-Binary.

I have been cutting hair since 2015. I have formal training in both scissor and straight razor cutting, having intimately trained under esteemed educators with 20+ years of experience. What excites me most about the skills I’ve built and aesthetic I’ve honed is being able to provide you the tools to go, quite literally, four+ weeks without washing and still look and feel hot as hell (as long as that’s your goal, I swear I can do other stuff, too). I mean, maybe you’ll have to brush it and put some goop in it, but in this house we love a good, lived-in look. Something that fits your lifestyle, not fight against it. There should be no reason you get a haircut, wake up the next morning, and feel powerless. Plus, even if it is “dirty” or “messy”, you’ll still look GOOD.

My philosophy of hair comes from wanting to create a space where my clients feel safe to express themselves, creating styles that transcend preconceived ideas of who should be what. I want to throw out assumptions others may have made about who you are and what you are assumed to want or need. I intentionally spend time listening and learning from you about who you are, or want to be, before I can even begin to imagine what we could do together. I don’t really post online much these days, and, honestly, I’ve found it helps deepen our connection and make the appointment more intimate. It’s nice not having eyes on us! It should just be about you and what you need!

I’m very adamant about keeping those in my hands as safe as possible, which includes what products I put into your hair. I try to keep the products I use as simple as possible (while still effectively achieving whatever you need), and do not carry anything that includes Fragrance/Perfume/Parfum. While I can’t guarantee scent free (for now), I want to be sure no one is missing out because of their own sensitivities or limitations due to their health. Everyone deserves luxury!!!!!

This trade is incredibly important to me, between the physicality of cutting and sculpting hair, to the people I get to meet and learn from every day and their stories I can take home, to the autonomy such a seemingly simple service can provide. I also have seen how the hair “Industry” has failed a lot of us. For so long it has been a place most comfortable favoring a, “tried and true” (non-diverse, conservative, corporate, exclusionary, and so on) aesthetic. I’m here to try to throw that whole idea in the proverbial dumpster, burn it, and start all over again. Here for you if you’re trying to do the same! :)
